Business and Government Continue Partnership to "Frack Over" Colorado

We don’t mean to be hyperbolic about the issue (in fact, that would be next to impossible), but the following editorial from the Boulder Daily Camera helps delineate how Colorado serves as another example of fascism. When government and industry work this closely together, there’s really no other way to describe the warm and cozy relationship. Deep Green Resistance also notes with continued anger the assault on the rights of citizens to govern their localities, and serve as agents for their open landbase. We urge those who share this outrage to check out the possibilities offered by organizations such as the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund. ...

Toxic vapors suspected in deaths of three Colorado oil and gas workers

Abusers, Colorado SB 12-088, and the Imperative of Production

ALL HANDS ON DECK! A new law proposed by conservative State senators in the Colorado State Congress seeks to preempt local regulation of oil & gas drilling and prevent local cities and communities from having ANY control over oil and gas activities within their boundaries. The bill– SB 12-088–comes on the heels of drilling moratorium in several Colorado counties, including Boulder, Longmont, and Colorado Springs, and is obviously a gift to the oil and gas industry. Now that the industry has begun to lose when it plays by the already biased and rigged rules, it has decided to change the rules altogether and forbid local control of oil and gas operations.

AIM & DGR Colorado Protest Suncor

This past New Year’s Eve, activists from the American Indian Movement and Deep Green Resistance Colorado organized a protest in Denver to raise awareness about the chronic negligence, pollution and general evil of Suncor Energy and it’s oil refinery in Commerce City, Colorado. We hooked up with members of Occupy Denver and marched down the 16th Street Mall, before hearing from members of AIM, DGR Colorado, and members of neighborhood in which the refinery is located. The media coverage was surprisingly good (and honest). Check out DGR Colorado’s own Deanna Meyer on 9 News!
